So, the least technical person in the world has decided to start a blog. This will force me to use the computer more in my life! #smallwins

Why did I choose to begin a blog? I have always been the type to express myself better through written words than actual speech. I love structure, and thoughts that become speech are always unstructured, with ideas that jumble together and come tumbling out in any order that they are created. Also, I believe that keeping record of my thoughts and growth will allow more clarity to myself for where I came from and therefore who I became.

What is Successful Woman? It is a place where the world can witness the journey of  a girl on her way to her dreams, including all the struggles, realness, and evolution. What goes on in the mind and heart of the 21st century girl who wants to become someone? Who wants to make a difference in the world? Who has the spirit to become greater than who she was when she began? What is she going to learn and experience on the way?  In today’s world, a woman can have ambition and fight for herself, however it doesn’t come easy and it does come with trade offs.

I am a woman who owns my own business, who is single (kind-of), and I have just begun my journey. Today, I witnessed one of my best friends get proposed to. I’ve known her my whole life and we are the same age. I am so happy to see her FINALLY get what she’s been waiting for, but inside I also felt so… lost. As ambitious and career driven as I am, will I ever be able to find someone that I can both admire, trust, and lean on? Yes, it’s true. Strong women are the ones who need someone to lean on the most. I wonder that while my goals are so important to me and that’s why I work so hard everyday, if it will all matter and how it will feel to achieve them if I don’t have the man that I want next to me?

As that little voice is questioning me in the back of my mind, I also realized, on the career side, that motivation never comes from an outside source. Inspiration does, but motivation depends on your state of mind. In other words, your mindset, philosophy, and how you view life will determine your motivation to initiate action.
